Long before the days of theme parks and zip lines, urban-dwellers, referred to as "sports," hired native Adirondack sportsmen for their expertise in hunting and fishing. By the 1850's, the profession was firmly established. Adirondack "guideboats," highly prized by collectors, were fashioned to transport tourists and their gear deep into the interior. Today's guides, now licensed by NYS, are as respected for their expertise as those early Adirondack Guides. Jamie Frasier, owner of Adirondack Mountain and Stream Guide Service, a veteran guide of over thirty years, writes.... " All Guides have a passion for the great outdoors and the folks they are guiding. Having a good time is a must." Find Jamie and others listed in our Adirondack Guides Business Listings page.
